Quarantine Instructions

POSITIVE COVID CASE

MUST complete the full quarantine and be cleared by the CE (Community Engagement Team before returning).

The help desk is open 6 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday for any questions about Los Angeles Unified and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Student & family wellness:

The help desk is open 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Please call for support with mental health, immunizations, health insurance, food & housing, enrollment, and more.

 

CLOSE CONTACT COVID CASE

A close contact would be anyone (masked or maskless) who was within 6 feet of the positive case for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. Please let me know if you have any more questions. If you are identified as a close contact and received a phone call from Ms. Melgar or Ms. Grace, please quarantine as instructed. You may go to El Sereno MS to get your PCR COVID test on the 5th day of quarantine if you are asymptomatic.  If your results are negative, you may return to school.  Please see the infographic below for guidance. 

 

ABSENCES

All absences due to COVID is marked as a "I" in MiSiS and are automatically excused. While they do count as an absence on your report card, they will not count against you @ Multnomah as we will continue to recognize your attendance efforts (disregarding the 1's) as we award our students with monthly certificate and prizes for attendance excellence. 

 

SYMPTOMATIC COVID TESTING

If a student or employee is symptomatic, they must  test in their vehicle at our symptomatic site at Gage Middle School. Enter at Miles ES entrance on Passaic Street behind Gage MS.
